How to make your ideas a reality

So I recently had a new business idea for Direlights and I was wondering what the steps were to make it a reality. So I read a small article from Forbes on how to make your business idea a reality.
It first covered doing research which would include the actual market of the good/service you are selling. Then seeing potential competitors who you can learn from and your next step is understanding who your main audience is because it's going to be really hard to sell to everyone so rather have a focus on a specific group of people who have legitimate interests. Then it talks about setting up a financial plan which is super important as most businesses fail because of a lack of capital. I also think the next part connects with this which is setting a business plan which includes all the research you did and also marketing plan, sale plan, funding, and financial projections.

That's a short summary of the article but what I actually wanted to talk about was my new idea, so my idea is not to introduce a new product but rather an experience. I would like to have Direlights go out to SLO farmers market or other events like the harvest festival where we have a few of us go out with a booth and teach people how to make candles and have people make candles. I know this might seem counterintuitive to our original plan of candles being produced by New Tech students, but I think it actually aids it and provides us with a new market where we sell an experience where people get to make their own personal candle of their liking. This provides the customer a new way to connect with our company that is more personal in all senses (pun intended). Our original model of making candles is awesome but this can be a real test of everyone's entrepreneurial ability. This can help us understand a whole new market and also how we can expand our company. This could be another source of revenue and most importantly growth for Direlights.
